ACT!ON JAMAICA is a volunteer programme created by the JN Foundation to encourage Jamaicans to give back to their country. The JN Foundation believes it's essential to our development that we all become active citizens, and through its volunteer programme, Jamaicans are encouraged to TAKE ACT!ON to positively transforming their lives and communities.
Our goal is to represent the views and needs of the volunteer sector by providing, through the work of the Foundation, a variety of specific and identifiable services that address Jamaica's most critical challenges. In addition, the programme supports non-governmental organisations (NGO's), local community-based organisations, and funding and development agencies with projects in the specific areas of rural development, education, youth, community and more.
Since its inception, Act!on Jamaica has facilitated its goal by:
- Creating a platform to engage Jamaicans in service and citizenship
- Mobilizing volunteers to participate in community development projects across the island
- Providing volunteers with opportunities to develop their skills and knowledge
- Increasing awareness, enthusiasm and support of the JN Foundation
