Introduction
The JNBS Foundation has undertaken an island wide Parish History Project, with renowned historian and author Marguerite Curtin on board. Also, recognising Jamaica’s rich oral history, the Foundation will be conducting ‘history recording days’ at major JNBS branches in each parish, in order to record the history of some of the Society's older members in their respective parishes. Culture has a huge role to play in instilling national pride in our citizens, and the Foundation is striving to make the gems of history within our parishes public knowledge. The first in a long series of books, The History Of Westmoreland is now available at bookstores islandwide.
