Point Hill Diagnostic Reading Centre

Literacy Classes
The Centre currently works with struggling readers from the Point Hill Leased Primary and Junior High School. The goal is to raise the students' literacy levels. Students are assessed prior to instruction and progress reports are issued twice per term.

Formal Assessment and Intervention
The closest available institution for formal assessment (for students with specific learning challenges) is in Kingston (MICO Care Centre). Our Centre is working in conjunction with other related agencies to provide not just formal assessments but also intervention classes.

Reading Workshops
These are conducted with the teachers from schools in the immediate community.

Basic & Advanced Computer Courses
The Centre offers a basic, introductory and an advanced computer course to members of the community. Through partnership with HEART – Lluidas Vale national certification is now available.
Children computer classes are also held weekly.

CXC Preparation classes
The Centre offers classes in English, Math, Accounts, Principals of Business, and Human & Social Biology
