Heads Up Regional Think Tank
Join us for the ‘Heads Up!’ Regional Think Tank, June 19–20, 2025, for a two-day hybrid event bringing together policymakers, advocates, researchers, and community leaders from Latin America and the Caribbean to address one of the most urgent challenges on our roads: helmet safety.
Motorcycle fatalities remain the highest road user death accounting for just over 30% of fatalities in Jamaica for the year 2024 (Island Traffic Authority Fatalities Report, 2024), and 25% of traffic deaths in the Americas (UN Global Road Safety Report, 2023).
The National Helmet Wearing Coalition (NHWC) will host this landmark event as part of a growing movement to improve helmet use, reduce fatalities, and shift the culture around motorcycle safety across the region.
While enforcement is a crucial component of behaviour change, lasting progress also depends on shared knowledge, coordinated strategies, and a unified voice.
